Dr. Loong Yik Yee is an Associate Professor in Universiti Putra Malaysia and a Consultant Physician and Gastroenterologist. He graduated from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia with a MD (UKM) degree in 1995 and subsequently was trained as a specialist in Internal medicine and gastroenterology. He has extensive experience in performing most diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures. He had served in many Hospitals in the Ministry of Health Malaysia which include hospital in Seremban, Tawau, Kota Kinabalu, Klang and Hospital Kuala Lumpur.

Currently he is the appointed Head of Department of Medicine in Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Universiti Putra Malaysia. His special interest is in Helicobacter pylori infection, colorectal cancer screening, hepatitis virus infection and preventive medicine. He is active in research and health education.
