Prof. Vijeyasingam Rajasingam
The founder of KL Vein and Vascular centre – is a General Vascular and Hepatobiliary surgeon and did his undergraduate training in the United Kingdom. He completed his higher surgical training in Liverpool which included an 18 month stint in scientific research. Dr Vijeyasingam returned to Malaysia in 1997 and started the vascular surgical unit at University Malaya Medical Centre. This unit provided services nationwide and offered the whole range of vascular services including: angioplasty, stenting, by-pass surgery for the lower limbs, aortic aneurysm surgery etc. He also started a diabetic foot and wound care service together with the rehabilitation medicine dept at UMMC. From 1998 Dr Vijeyasingam was an associate professor in UMMC until he left in the year 2008 after an 11 year stint.
Dr Haizal graduated from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne in 1993. He did his basic specialist training in The UK before returning to Malaysia in 1998 to work at the University Malaya Medical Centre (UMMC) as Lecturer in Medicine and Cardiology. In 2003, he became Associate Professor of Medicine as well as Consultant Physician and Cardiologist at UMMC before joining Tropicana Medical Centre as Consultant Interventional Cardiologist. He is also a Visiting Consultant Cardiologist and Peripheral Interventionist at Assunta Hospital, Petaling Jaya.With 13 years experience in cardiology and specializing in interventional cardiology, he is one of few cardiologists with a particular interest in peripheral vascular disease working on limb salvaging. His other areas of expertise are transradial coronary intervention and primary percutaneous coronary intervention (PPCI) in acute myocardial infarction (AMI).
Dr. Basri Johan Jeet Abdullah
Dr. Abdullah was a Professor at the Department of Biomedical Imaging, University of Malaya and Consultant Radiologist at the Biomedical Imaging Unit, University of Malaya Medical Centre, Kuala Lumpur. Dr. Abdullah is currently actively involved in interventional work and endovascular therapy including uterine artery embolisation in the treatment of uterine fibroids, targeted chemo and radiotherapy. His other expertise and research interests include radiofrequency ablation (RFA) in particular in hepatocellular carcinoma, targeted chemotherapy, and focused ultrasound. He has also research interest in stem cell therapies for critical limb ischaemia, stroke and development of cancer vaccine.
Mr. Tiong Boon Ann
Mr Tiong is a certified Hyperbaric Technologist and has close to 10 years of working experience in Hyperbaric Medicine. This includes a year in the US, 5 years in Pantai Hospital, Ampang and 3 years in Assunta Hospital. He is also accredited by National Board of Diving & Hyperbaric Medical Technology
